Well, my boyfriend, Nick, has recently been given the opportunity to open a new subsidiary of his company in London UK, which he would be his to run.  It's an amazing opportunity for him and i'm so proud of him.  When he first told me about it, he said he'd probably have to move to London for 6 months to a year...and i was crushed. What was i going to do without him for a year?  I guess i had gotten ahead of myself because he followed that up by asking me to go with him. My instant reply was YES without any hesitation. He needs to be out there before the division's launch on October 1st, so we'll be moving in September of this year.

Yes, it means giving up my job, moving away from friends and family. It means giving up everything that is familiar and starting over in a whole new country, but how many people get that kind of opportunity? I love to travel and have lived abroad before in college and found it to be one of the best experiences in my life. I still talk about it. I never thought i'd get a chance to repeat that kind of experience. But here i am, with the opportunity to live in London, with almost all of my expenses paid by Nick's company.  Leaving me free to do all the things I never have time or courage to do here, to include changing career fields, travelling around europe, meeting new people, trying new things, gaining new perspective, to learn from my mistakes here and start over fresh to build myself a better life. Yes, we will eventually be coming back to California but a lot can happen in a year. I truly believe this is a golden opportunity to make those drastic changes that i need, and i have to take advantage of it.

Since this is a big change, I thought i'd chronicle this transition and share some of my excitement, fears, laughs and tears with anyone who is interested. My hope is that, no one will be bored reading it.

So it's official...i'm moving to London. Wish me luck.
