The home of what is said to be the World's tallest monolithic statue, Lord Bahubali stands 17m high on top of hill overlooking the town Sravanabelagola. The word Sravanabelagola means Monk on the Hill and the Statue which was made in 981AD can be seen for miles around. The town is also one of the oldest and possibly the most important Jain pilgrimage centres in the whole of India.
