Called the 'River of No Return,' the Salmon River cuts through the rugged mountains of Central Idaho. It is one of the longest free-flowing (un-dammed) rivers in the States. Large stretches of the river flow through rugged, protected wilderness areas. Many rafters flock to the river to float the white-water rapids. Jet boats run up and down the river as well. Salmon and steelhead fishing also draw many people to the Salmon River. The town of Riggins holds many rafting companies. A day float trip costs around $50 per person.
