Ventura Harbor and Channel Islands Harbor (in Oxnard) are both beautiful, well sheltered havens to large numbers of pleasure and working vessels.  Both feature inner canals that are lined with homes and condominiums featuring their own docks.  It is well worth taking a harbor cruise at one or both to get that unique 'on the water' view, and then enjoy a drink or meal at one of the many fine establisments on the harborfronts.
