Los Alamitos is a small, mostly residential city located in the northwest part of Orange County. It has a population of 11,536 and sits 22 feet above sea level. Los Alamitos is bordered by Cypress to the north and west, Garden Grove to the west, Seal Beach to the south, and Long Beach to the east and northeast.
This small, mostly middle to upper class city is home to great schools, a nice way of life, industries providing job oppotunites, a hospital, and a major Army National Guard base and airfield.
JFTB Los Alamitos is a base owned and operated by the California Army National Guard. It is home to the US Army's 40th Infantry Division, 63rd Regional Support Command, Southern California's Office of Emergency Services (OES), and the United States Water Polo National Training Center. The base also has the Army National Guard's largest active airfield.
