Ft Myers, Florida is one of the best unknown places of Southwest Florida. It is a persons dream. You can visit the Winter Estates of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. These estates are along Mac Gregor Blvd. This is about 12 miles of road lined with Royal Palm Trees. Heading down Mac Gregor you can head over to the Shelling Captial of the world of Sanibel Island and Captiva Island. This is a nice drive either by car or motorcycle which I prefer. 

Mac Gregor kinda turns into San Carlos Blvd which will take you over to Ft Myers Beach on Estro Island. Before the going across the Mantanzas Pass Bridge you turn left you can go to Southwest Florida's largest Shrimp boat fleet. Also home to a Gambling boat. On down the road is Salty Sam's Marina. Heading over the Mantanzas Pass Bridge you are in down town Ft Myers Beach. This is a very nice drive. Follow this road until you get to Lovers Key and Lovers Key Carl Johnson State Park. This is what the other Florida is like. Beautiful waters and beaches. The next town is Bonita Beach and Bonita Springs

If you don't head down Mac Gregor Blvd you can go across one of the bridges to North Ft Myers and Cape Coral. This is a nice area but take the roads over to Pine Island. Pine Island is filled with quant fishing towns.

Travel North on RT 41 or I-75 you can go into Punta Gorda. Ask directions to get to Fishermen's Village. There you will find a great place to eat called Harpoon Harry's. They are motorcycle friendly. Many motorcycle and riding clubs go there in peace with the tourist and even some tourons (Tourist morons).
