The city is very famous for the temple of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy which is a swayambhu murthy here.
The amazing thing about this temple which was supposed to be built during the period of Rayalus is, after the daily abhishekam is performed to the murthy in the temple, the murthy sweats and as long as the archakas keep pressing off the sweat, it keeps coming out.
The temple has a pushkarini at the back and is considered a very sacred place.
