Since July, 1950, Idaho Springs has been home to a larger-than-life statue of comic strip hero/aviator Steve Canyon, hewn from Indiana limestone. The statue is intended to honor all of the various cartoon characters that went to war for the U.S. in World War II. You can find it at the corner of Colorado Blvd. and Miner St.
