Glacier National Park is the finest place for hiking and backpacking in the United States.
Known as the Crown of the Rockies, GNP has pristine wilderness and fantastic wildlife.
In the park you can see black and grizzly bears, bald eagles, hear wolves howling, and really connect with the wild part of nature.
A rafting trip down the Middle Fork of the Flathead River is well worth your time and money, trips leave all summer long from West Glacier.
Make sure to visit the Going to the Sun Highway, and even better, leave your car at the bottom and join a red bus tour, it makes a difference to everyone - you don't have to drive so you can admire the spectacular scenery and there is less traffic on the road.
If you really want out of the way wildnerness, head into the North Fork, and stop for a beer at the Northern Lights Saloon.
Check out also the Glacier Institute, they offer informative and educational nature seminars for adults and also childrens programs.
