Just outside of Nancy the chateau de Fleville is one of the finest Renaissance castles of the East of France.
The 30 m. high keep, which dominates this monument dating from 1320 was protected by Richelieu, at King Louis XIII's request. The Renaissance construction was finished in 1533, and demonstrates early French Renaissance architecture. A large 35 m. long balcony with beautiful windows under the roof decorates the front facade. The harmony of the frontage makes Fléville one of the most beautiful castles in Lorraine.
Inside, the grand Estates of Lorraine Room tells the history of the Dukes of Lorraine. The Stanislas Room along with other rooms demonstrate the intimate details of the family who has lived in this chateau for 190 years. The castle and the park all are listed among the Historic buildings.
