Fermont is a town of 2000 inhabitants 1200 kms north from Montréal, close to the border between Québec and Labrador. It has been built only 35 years ago for the workers of a mine and their family. There is a very long building there called "le mur" (the wall) It is maybe 2 kilometres long and 4 floors high, in there are all shops, pub, swimming pool, some appartements, an hotel and more. All the houses are built behind that wall which protects them from the very strong and cold winter wind.

In summer température are around 20° in july and there is almost no nght. In winter, it goes under -30° and you can see northern lights. To go there we drove for 2 days, the last 400 kms on a gravel road.
