Curitiba is located in the Parana State of Brazil and it is about 400 km away from Sao Paulo. It is a well planned and modern city with a number of attractions. There is a railway line, first in Brazil going from Curitiba to Paranaqua thorugh the mountains. The journey itself is breath taking.  

The South of Brazil has a more European culture and the people is wonderful. Although not a costal town, Curitiba is very close to beautiful beach areas, like San Francisco towards east, and Porto Bello and Florianopolis to the South.
