As with all slot canyons you don't want to be in one when it rains. Take weather very seriously. The permiting process is also tricky - you'll need to plan months ahead to obtain permits.
The upper cayon is wide open, spacious, and incredible. The lower canyon, for at least 12 miles is very narrow, filled with water and mud and almost eirie in places.
Access is by hiking only. Most people put in at Wire Pass and hike 13 miles down canyon to the confluence with the Paria River. Water is scarce and you probably won't want to drink from the smelly mud puddles that slow your passage - don't count on averaging more than 1mph on this hike. There is a boulder fall that you should bring a rope and be prepared to rappel down. Most people hike out up the Paria River 7 miles to Whitehouse.
There are many sites on the internet with more detailed descriptions so I won't repeat those here.
