San Antonio
Mar/17/2007 03:22

This is where I was stationed for a couple years in the army and ended up staying for several more! I have to say that Texas is its own state, separated from the rest. There is something about it that stands out from the crowd. The air, the people, the land ... I'm not sure.

Other then the bad areas of town and the forever going problems with illegals, I love it there! San Antonio is famous for its Riverwalk. Along the river are shops and resteraunts all situated downtown, along with the great Tower of Americas.

Cape Cod, Massachusettes

Cape Cod is beautiful! If you ever had the chance to see Norm Abram on "This Old House" you have seen what the life is like in this part of the country. Massachusttes is one of the great states who do not allow corporations to come in and redecorate their state with all their signs and billboards (Like Walmart).

Most of the homes in this area are within state guidelines that they all be built in a similar fashion, cedar shingles, etc. This area is also rich in history ... from Salem's witches to sunken ships along the coast to the great Tea Party way back in the day. This area is also a haven for collectables and antiques. I give this place a must see for tourists!!

Malone
Mar/17/2007 02:58

Malone is a small quainte town, about an hour south of Montreal. This is where I grew up! Beautiful and friendly area, but unfortunately, with high taxes and no jobs thanks to our governor (and Hillary Clinton)! It's a place for me to get away and unwind. A place I can go and don't have to worry about locking my car doors, segregation of people and all the gangs, crime, traffic, crime and pollution of the city.

I mean will someone please annex NYC? Let the Big Apple Fortune 500 companies pay for their own dang taxes! Instead farmers are getting bought out by the large corporations, NYC is sending their convicts to rural america and people are moving out causing more taxation for those who remain. I Love NY ... Definately NOT!

Middle Caicos
Mar/17/2007 02:39
Middle Caicos is among the British Islands of Turks and Caicos. For those who want to escape from it all .... This is the place! Uninhabited beaches, Conch shells galore, lobster diving for dinner and friendly natives make this a complete get a way! And when I say get a way, I mean away! Don't forget to bring your groceries over by plane or you'll resort to having dinner at the mercy of the natives. When we went, we found a resturaunt, which was owned by a man who also filled potholes by day and entertained guests at the local bar at night! Also you may not want to miss seeing the caves. They are really long so wear comfortable shoes and ask for a man named Ernest to guide you through! Really cool place with all the bats and underground rivers, etc. And when you think you have seen enough of nobody, skip over to Providenciales for the normal life, like hotels and food!

Isabela, Puerto Rico
Mar/15/2007 04:07

Puerto Rico. Great place! I stayed in Hobos Beach for a year on the beach and very much enjoyed the laid back life. Areas to visit are;

Hobos Beach (Isabela) - Laid back, english speaking (military base close by), touristy, tranquil, great surfing ...

Mayaguez - One of the best surfing areas in the world!

San Juan - El Morro (The old spanish fort - It's HUGE!), old roads, shopping, concerts, history... Bad things are; Crime, peddlers, sewer system, traffic ...

Phospherant Bay - One of the three bays in the world that one can swim in and glow in the dark like a light stick! Awesome place with a lot of variety!
