ZANZIBAR WEDDINGS BY THE HYPNOTIZING INDIAN OCEAN

What could be more enduringly romantic than to celebrate your union on a pristine sandy beach on the mystical spice Island of Zanzibar...

with a mesmerizing view of the Indian Ocean under celestial blue skies? With rose-colored sunsets and a palm fringed untouched beach, ZanzibarMagic is the perfect romantic getaway to Zanzibar

Why

Zanzibar ?

For centuries, the historical Spice Island of

Zanzibar has evoked a mystical and magical dream?

Zanzibar

is the most romantic of wedding and honeymoon destinations as it combines turquoise blue seas, white powder sand and waving palm trees with a rich and mesmerizing Swahili culture, fabulous cuisine, and stunning sunsets over the Indian Ocean.

The fusion of Arab, African, Portuguese, and European cultures has created a pace of life, a style of cuisine, and a colorful tapestry of architecture, heritage, myth and magic that is found nowhere else in the world.

The island is steeped in culture and home to winding alleys, carved doors and the cool courtyards of Stone Town, through the domed bath houses of Sultans, and out on the expanses of the white powder sand of its stunning beaches.

With a palm fringed untouched beach, great attention to detail and a personal touch, Breezes Beach Club is the perfect romantic getaway to celebrate your special occasion.

They have created wedding itineraries which range from the simple to the elaborate?

Whichever you chose you can rest assured that your special day will be in the most romantic of settings with great attention to detail, personal touches and the assistance of the entire Breezes team to assure that your wedding will be both memorable and unique.

The people of Zanzibar do not take weddings lightly...

By calling gracefully and heartily on the warmth, hospitality and harmony of Zanzibari culture, they know that each wedding is a reason to celebrate, to gather friends and family and enjoy
the best food and drinks available.

Couple this natural delight of a beautiful setting and the honor we feel when people travel from far and wide to celebrate their wedding on our shores and you have the perfect hosts for a romantic tropical celebration. However, at Mtoni Marine we take this much further.

By offering a full wedding planner service, we will ensure that your day is as peaceful and joyous as the occasion deserves and demands. We have a selection of charming wedding packages available that will melt every heart.

This said we invite all couples to tailor the packages and create that dream wedding. We have a wide range of optional extras which will make the ordinary wedding, exceptional?

Our reputation for fine food, attention to detail and a sublimely romantic setting has made us the choice of many happy couples. Your hosts exchanged their vows in Zanzibar and give the same care and attention to your wedding as they did their own. Every detail is taken care of so you can relax, celebrate and bask in each other's happiness and love.

Please note that Zanzibar Weddings and Marriages are legally binding and marriage certificates issued are internationally recognized.

ADDITIONAL REQUESTS
The wedding packages can be tailored to suit your every need, allowing you to put a bit of your personality in every part of your wedding. We will make your wedding on Zanzibar as amazing as you could ever have dreamed, so if you have an additional request, please ask us and we will do our very best to make it happen.

Please bear in mind that we are on a tropical island, and that logistics and the weather can sometimes be very limiting. And no, we are not able to offer ice sculptures, they would melt on the beach?yes we have been asked.

DRESS CODE
Weddings on the beach are an informal event - barefoot and fabulous.

Having said that, we have had some brides who have donned magnificent designer dresses, which have sparkled on the beach at Mtoni Marine. It must be remembered that the Jimmy Choes and Manolo Blahniks need to be removed before boarding boats and dresses need to be hoisted up!

Please keep in mind the weather when planning outfits, Zanzibar is hot and humid year round. Smart casual is perfect for a wedding on the beach.

THE MINISTER

Father Charles of the local Anglican Church conducts all our wedding ceremonies. He likes to meet the couples beforehand to run through the formalities.

He is able to conduct non-religious weddings as well.

He brings a comical aspect to the ceremonies when asking if there is anyone who objects, by glancing around, then further checking with his glasses on, then off, even if there are only the two of you!

TIME

The majority of the weddings take place in the late afternoon to early evening. This is a beautiful time of the day in Zanzibar. The sun is setting and the photographs always turns out stunningly.

Having a late afternoon or evening wedding means that you can enjoy a wonderful candle lit dinner at the water's edge, which is simply spectacular.

If you would rather have a daytime wedding, we can just as easily do that for you.

LEGAL DOCUMENTS

You read a lot on the internet about what is required for a world wide recognized legal wedding in Zanzibar, but by following our step by step notes and copying the sample documents is as easy as 1, 2, 3 "I Do"!

Both the bride and groom get an original marriage certificate. Take these to your local council office or office of home affairs to have it registered in your home country. It is easier than most websites make it out to be. Trust us!

Step-by-Step Notes on Documents required for religious and official ceremony on Zanzibar:

The marriage certificate issued by the Anglican Cathedral is legal and is recognized worldwide.

However copies of certain documents are required in advance in order to ensure the process goes smoothly. These documents can be either faxed or emailed to us, but certified copies should be brought with you.

(Please see sample to be used below)

DHOWS
A dhow is a traditional Zanzibari sailing vessel with one or more lateen sails. They are made of wood and are a common sight along the Zanzibar coastline.

For celestial navigation, dhow sailors have traditionally used the kamal. This observation device determines latitude by finding the angle of the Pole Star above the horizon.

Up to the 1960s, dhows made commercial journeys between the Persian Gulf and East Africa using only sails as a means of propulsion. The freight was mostly dates and fish to East Africa and mangrove timber to the lands in the Persian Gulf.

Today they are still widely used in trade and transport, but often make use of motors.

Additional Dhows - 16 people per Dhow                                                                                        $700.-USD

Additional Dhows can be arranged at your request.

The maximum number of guests on each Dhow is set at 16, allowing your guests to enjoy their Dhow ride in comfort and safety.

The cost for an extra Dhow includes wine, soda and water.

Pemba Island Channel Humpback Whale Season Started.

Humpbacks Whales have been seen this week passing just a few hundred meters off the beach at The Manta Resort breaching and playing right in front.

They are heading south.

We saw a mother and calf most of the day moving very slowly and the next day we saw a single whale, probably a male.

The mornings are calm and so it is possible to either kayak out or jump in a boat and skirt nearby them as they are seen on the horizon.

Afternoons when the wind kicks up the waves, it?s best to enjoy the sightings with a pair of binoculars from the verandah.

This phenomenon we expect to continue till September.

Zanzibar East Coast voted and included in the Top 30 Island Beaches in the world by the prestigious Conde' Nast Traveler in their article "20 years...30 beaches"!!

Zanzibar- Zanzibar East Coast was named as one of the top island beaches in the world standing shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Petit St Vincent in the St Vincent and the Grenadines, Plaza de las Salinas in Ibiza, Shipwreck Beach in Zakynthos to name a few.

Zanzibar's East Coast was noted for its "safe swimming, seldom crowded, hotel, cafes, bars and natural shade."

The article says:

"This 12 mile beach on the Zanzibar East Coast is populated mostly by locals-fisherman wading to their boats, brightly dressed women husking coconuts or gathering seaweed, kids with dreams knocking around a deflated football."

Noted as the WOW FACTOR

Zanzibar is one of the most exotic of African islands, and Zanzibar East Coast is its wide and blinding white beach"

"We have always known how magnificent the East Coast is- but we are delighted that the rest of the world is recognizing its beauty.

We hope that this prestigious selection will put Zanzibar firmly in its place as one of the most beautiful islands of the world - with the peaceful and untouched South Eastern Coast of the island getting the acknowledgment it deserves."

Zanzibar East Coast Tour Jambiani, Paje, Bwejuu

The east coast of Zanzibaris lined with powder-white beaches which look out towards a long barrier reef, about a kilometer offshore.

Inland there's a coastal strip of coconut palms within which there are small fishing villages and a variety of places to stay.

There's good diving and snorkeling here, Ocean Paradise Resort and Matemwe and Shooting Star Inn have nearby dive centers for easy diving and snorkeling trips. (Such trips often visit the reefs around Mnemba Island .)

A new facility is the Palms private villas not to forget the new Fairmont Hotels Resorts Zanzibar !!

To the north of this long coast, Matemwe Retreat and Lodge occupies an isolated spot above a long sandy beach. It's a reliable choice; with stylish upgraded rooms, plenty of space and it has a very well-established atmosphere.

Karafuu Beach Hotel and Spa another classic tucked away in the Michamvi Bay, well recommended!!

In a class of it's own, Tanzania's top beach destination is Mnemba Island ? a small island about 5km off Zanzibar East Coast with one, small exclusive lodge on it taking just 20 people.

You really can go barefoot all day here, Robinson Crusoe style . Mnemba Island costs are very high, but then it is very good, and it's almost always full!

With a visitors list including Bill Gates, Naomi Campbell cost of the rooms isn't the issue to many of Mnemba Island guests.
