Trayle

Barcelona by far is my favourite European destination . Its atmosphere is unique and the art is great. This city has everything: the sea, mountains, art, and a very nice climate throughout the year.

Last year, Nathalie and myself went there once more on a weekend trip. We stayed at the Hilton Diagonal where we (thanks to my diamond status) had access to the executive lounge with free drinks and snacks all day...thank god there was so much to see outside, otherwise we would have been there all weekend, drinking champagne and Baileys. The hotel was excellent and so was the brandy which they offered us in our room..

Some of the places we went were Parc Guell with the best of Gaudi, the Sagrada Familia, the Ramblas, the port and Casa Mila (nice museum inside!).

The spot with the panoramic view over the city from Parc Guell is truly amazing.

We celebrated our honeymoon in Mexico, Cancun, and didn´t regret it a second  . We had been to the Domenican last year, but loved Cancun a lot better. What makes the difference are probably the (Mayan)culture and the (utmost friendly) people.

We did three excursions: Coba Pac-chen (a visit to a Mayan village and pyramids in the jungle), a quad tour and Xcaret. The latter definetely is a must see! Xcaret is a park about 60 km's from Cancun with all types of wild animals, a panoramic tower, dolphins, snorkling rivers, ... and the best live show we have ever seen.

The hotel, the Sunscape Puerto Aventure, was all-inclusive and superb too. The only down side was the humidity, which is typical for the region. The floor in our room was almost always wet and the mirrors damp. Other than that, great food, very friendly personnel and delicious cocktails.
